Channapatna Toys will be promoted at a Railway Station in Bengaluru

The displaying of Channapatna toys at a stall to be set up at KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru is an integral part of the ‘One Station, One Product’ program introduced by the Ministry of Railways in the Union Budget 2022-23 this year.

The ‘One Station, One Product’ initiative of the Union Ministry of Railways was announced in the Union Budget 2022-23, which aims to promote locally manufactured products at railway stations across the country. Within this initiative, Channapatna Toys will be displayed at KSR railway station, Bengaluru in Karnataka.

As reported in TOI, a South Western Railway (SWR) official informs that they had invited applications from the manufacturers of ‘Channapatna Toys’, particularly from Channapatna which is a town known for toys and is known as a ‘toy town’, i.e. the Gombegala Ooru of Karnataka.

This initiative is still in the initial stages, i.e. the pilot project will be introduced for 15 days from March 25. The registration fee is given to be only INR 500.

The SWR official further adds that there would be a functional stall that will ensure easy access to the passengers. The stall would act as a facility to sell these toys at the station stalls and platforms.
