Gurgaon-based mother and baby care brand MamaEarth has bagged an investment worth USD 4 million (Rs. 29 crores approx.) from Stellaris Ventures Partners and some others investors. Marico Ltd’s Rishabh Mariwal and Snapdeal Co-founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal also participated in this series A round of funding. This round of investment is worth Rs. 29 crores. In April this year, Shilpa Shetty Kundra had invested in mom and baby care consumer startup MamaEarth. She is now the brand ambassador and also the equity investor of this Asia’s first MadeSafe certified brand which manufactures toxin-free and hypoallergenic baby care product range in India. It actually has more than 35 products in the baby personal care segment and it also sells pre natal and post natal care products for mothers.
MamaEarth would presumably utilize the investment to expand its business across offline and in the digital space, technology and marketing, besides intensifying its product portfolio. Established by husband-wife duo Mr. Varun and Mrs. Ghazal Alagh in 2016 with the idea to provide toxin-free, safe and certified baby care products. MamaEarth has its offline presence in three Indian cities Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and it is likely that it would expand its retail presence in other cities too soon. Its products are also available on its website and on online shopping websites like Amazon, Flipkart, FirstCry and Nykaa.
