Aralar has strengthened its position as a major supplier of base sheets for the flushable wipes market globally. With the massive surge in awareness around sustainable and environmentally friendly products around the world, the company is now striving to go for the necessary transition from a plastic-based paradigm into being a biodegradable one in the baby wipes segment.

This step comes after the recent doubling of production capacity for its Araflush and Arababy ranges, both playing an integral role in the rapid growth of the Spanish firm in the wet wipes industry.

At the end of 2020, Aralar had commenced operations of its PM5, thus increasing its combined wet-laid capacity to 45,000 tonnes. This move was in line with the start of the company’s new logistics center, an integral part of which is a fully robotic warehouse that has revolutionised Aralar’s customer service position.

The paper manufacturer can affirm that the recent market launch by a number of established brand-owners of various baby wipes which have been manufactured using its cellulosic material. These baby wipes have the differentiating factor in the market of being not only biodegradable but water-dispersible as well.
