AR-based Playshifu makes its Orboot App free without purchasing the physical toy

Playshifu, the leading AR-based (Augmented Reality based) toys company has announced that their Orboot app is now free for any user without purchasing the physical toy.

Aiming to support the learning at homes in the light of the lockdown implemented due to the global pandemic, Playshifu which brings products based on educating the foundational principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) through learning, has made the app accessible to the users who doesn’t have to purchase the Orboot Globe.

The App is a great learning resource for kids as it brings alive 400 wonders in 4D and offers 1000+ educative facts across seven categories – Animals, Cuisines, Cultures, Inventions, Political Maps, Monuments, and Weather and also brings a variety of interactive and learning games and quizzes. Apart from educating about the facts and figures, this app also helps in educating the kids about various kinds of cultures and helps in sensitizing them towards different ethnicities and cultures.

Shifu Orboot is a AR-powered globe and is designed as an interactive educational aid that transforms a smartphone or tablet into a gateway as one can view the globe through the app. Earlier, one had to purchase games inside the app if one didn’t buy the Orboot globe, but the brand has now removed the in-app purchase features.

Founded by Vivek Goyal and Dinesh Advani, Playshifu was started in 2016 and has its offices in Bengaluru and San Francisco. The AR-based educational toys and games brand had ventured its business journey with the initial product- Shifu Safari, i.e. a range of educational toys meant for the age 2-6 years. The brand has expanded its products and has four distinct categories, Shifu Cards, Shifu Minglings, Shifu Orboot, and Shifu Plugo. The products by the brand are available in 15 countries. The leading augmented reality (AR) toy company teaching foundational STEAM skills through physical and digital play had recently expanded its product range earlier this year- Shifu Tacto, three new gaming kits for Shifu Plugo and a whole new experience of its popular AR globe, Shifu Orboot, with two new planets to explore.
