Funskool has recently appointed R Jeswant as the CEO as subsequent to the retirement of John Baby, who was at the helm of the company since 2006.
Baby held the said position of CEO at the toy manufacturing company from 2006 to 2020, was responsible for boosting exports by setting up the company’s third manufacturing facility in Ranipet during his tenure.
Jeswant, who succeeded Baby as the new CEO, was Senior Vice-President Sales & Marketing at the leading toy manufacturing company in India. He has been associated with Funskool for over 20 years. Before joining Funskool in the year 2000, Jeswant had worked with TI Cycles of India as Senior Product Manager and as General Manager – Sales at Blue Star Limited.
Jeswant said “At Funskool we will continue pursuing our plans actively with utmost optimism to build a global toy brand from India, while strengthening our product lines in every category in India.”
Funskool manufactures toys under various brands such as Giggles, Fundough and Handicrafts, and also manufactures toys for some of the leading global names such as Hasbro and SpinMaster. The brand has recently introduced Japan’s Sylvanian Families, educational toys from the US-based VTech, and eco-friendly wooden toys from Thailand-based Plan Toys in India.
