Slurrp Farm, owned and operated by Wholsum Foods, has recently secured funding of USD 7 million in a fresh funding round led by Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), the sovereign wealth fund of the Government of Dubai, and the existing investor Fireside Ventures.

In 2020, the children-focussed healthy snacks brand had raised an initial investment of USD 2 million from multi-stage venture fund Fireside Ventures in Series-A round.

“We have a deep-rooted conviction to bringing millets back to the meals we eat and making them incredibly delicious! The UN-designated Year of Millets strengthens our commitment to lead the conversation on these super grains.

We are growing steadily and currently clocking in over INR 50 crore of revenue run rate, with an aim to reach INR 500 crore in revenue by 2025. The funds raised will enable us to build a global Indian FMCG brand,” said Meghana Narayan and Shauravi Malik, Co-Founders and Co-CEOs of Wholsum Foods.

The startup affirms that they have been working on product innovation with their R&D team, nutritionists, and pediatricians, to come up with five more stock-keeping units (SKUs) in the coming months, taking the existing portfolio to 30 SKUs in all.

Slurrp Farm has a portfolio of healthy food products for children – porridges and cereals, puffed snacks for children, millet pancakes, millet dosa, and cake mixes. The products are available in over 600 retail stores and online grocery shopping portals across India, UAE, and Singapore.

Speaking about the investment, Mr. Kanwaljit Singh, Founder and Managing Partner, Fireside Ventures, says, “The desire for healthier, less refined alternatives to wheat has fueled the rediscovery of ancient grains. Health and wellness have gained an added focus during the pandemic. We are thrilled to invest in an innovative company like Slurrp Farm which is starting this revolution with young children who are always the first agents of change.”
