3 Sprouts was founded by three people, namely, Obsidian Graham, Amit Khurana and Banu Khurana in the year 2007. Mommy & Baby Times (MBT) had a brief chat with Obsidian Graham, Co-Founder of 3 Sprouts, about the product range and the market presence of the brand.

3 Sprouts was founded by three people as is reflected in the name of the brand and is based in Toronto, Canada. It offers a range of toy chests, storage boxes, lunch boxes, bins and stroller organisers, etc.
About the elaborate product range, Obsidian Graham, Co-Founder of 3 sprouts says “Our brand is on the storage frontier and the product range covers everything from toys storage to storage boxes, storage bins, book racks etc. We’ve recently introduced a collection of litter less lunch boxes into our product range. Since, we design things mainly for children; we create designs and choose colours that would appeal the most to them.”
How 3 Sprouts was founded
There is actually an interesting series of events that led to the establishment of the company 3 Sprouts, as she narrates “I went to a design school in Toronto with one of my business partners. And his sister who is a design enthusiast herself was doing her MBA and that’s kind of how we all met and pondered on collaborating for our venture. As we realised that well-conceptualised and trendily designed storage solutions were not that readily available in the market. Thus, we ideated and started out our brand 3 Sprouts to fill up that chasm.”
Design
About the unique design and functionality of the products, she states that “the functionality of the product is of paramount importance to us, and we make sure that everything is useful and really adds value to our customer’s lifestyle. We don’t want anything in there to just be superfluous and we really want it to be valuable. We design things mainly for children, and everything has an animal picture on it which is almost like a signature of 3 sprouts. There is a sense of a thread of continuity in the way we design or develop and everything is designed in-house.”

Manufacturing and global market presence
3 Sprouts products are actually manufactured off-the-shelf and she affirms “most of our items are made in China and in the last two years, we’ve actually grown internationally. We have representatives in about 40-45 different countries worldwide. We have distributors in India, China in the Asian region and throughout the EU. We are going to start out our operations in South America which is really thrilling for us.”
Merlin First & Company based out of Okhla, New Delhi, is the distributor for 3 Sprouts products in the Indian market.
Future developments
Pointing to the new developments in the pipeline, she asserts “we’re always designing and bringing in new products to the market. We are going to elaborate our lunch range that we have recently introduced, with the addition of a collection of lunch bags. With our company, we tend to add new products in every six months or so. We always strive to keep the customer engaged and I just want to reiterate that we have something for everyone.”
