Popees Baby Care to Increase its Market Presence in South

Excelling their target during the challenging times of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has encouraged the company to consider expanding domestically as well as internationally.

One of the prominent clothing brands for babies and kids – Popees Baby Care Products Private Limited is intending to expand its retail market presence in the South Indian market.

As per a report published in The Hindu, Mr. Shaju Thomas, Managing Director at Popees Baby Care, stated that the planned expansion will be through their own and franchisee model. Further, there are also plans in the pipeline to start their first overseas stores in London and Manchester. In fact, he said that surpassing their target during the times of the ongoing pandemic has encouraged the company to consider expanding domestically as well as internationally.

At present, the children’s clothing label has 32 exclusive stores in South India apart from many multi-brand retail outlets selling its products. Out of these 32 stores of Popees Baby, he informed that they have started 25 stores after the outbreak of Covid-19, and the market prospects of these outlets seemed to be quite promising, facilitating for a retail expansion.

Popees Baby Care makes a range of babywear and kids wear for the age groups of 0 -2 years and 2-6 years respectively. With the production units at Tiruvali in Malappuram, Bengaluru, and Tirupur with the manufacturing capacity of five lakh garments a month, the children’s wear company is aspiring to take the number of stores to 100 by the year-end and to reach 500 in the coming five years.
