MBT: Kindly take us through the business journey of Luusa Tricycles.
Bharat Kwatra: The journey of Luusa Tricyle was started in the year 1986 within a small room with three people and it was started by Mr. Ramesh Kwatra. At that time, little did they know that one day Luusa will become the leading tricycle manufacturing company of India. With time, we have expanded our manufacturing capacity as we have established manufacturing facilities in multiple locations. We have also increased our product offerings with the introduction of a number of innovative products. Although we had to face some ups and downs on our way; however, with our diligent efforts and relentless commitment, I think we have succeeded in building up a strong business by gaining the trust of our customers which is one of our greatest accomplishments.
MBT: Could you please describe the product range offered by the company?
BK: Luusa Tricycles manufactures a wide range of tricycles that includes Canopy tricycles, Tricycles with push handles, Trikes, Baby walker, Plasma Cars, Magic Cars with parental control, Ride-Ons, and Scooty. Also, we are planning to expand the product range as by introducing a few new products. Innovation is the key strength in all of our products that helps us in maintaining our leading position in the market.
“We have a chain of almost 1626 distributors and retailers in our network all over India that covers more than 3450+ districts in the physical/offline market. Thus, our network is quite huge and is consistently growing with time.”
MBT: Please touch upon the various marketing and distribution strategies of Luusa Tricycles to ensure a smooth reach to the consumers.
BK: We are a system oriented company and our way of managing and operating our business is very structured and organized. We work by maintaining check-lists at all steps in operations at our organization for e.g.- a flow chart monitoring system, order to dispatch checklist etc. We are a company that uses more than 37 check points in all the different units. It helps the customers in seamlessly checking the track of their order online by going on our flow chart monitoring system which is why we have more than 92.7% on-time delivery record. We sincerely make sure that each of our customer and client gets the needed information and updates on a regular basis.
MBT: What is the current physical and online market presence of the company?
BK: We have a chain of almost 1626 distributors and retailers in our network all over India that covers more than 3450+ districts in the physical/offline market. Thus, our network is quite huge and is consistently growing with time.
Besides that, we are easily reachable on almost all the online shopping portals such as Amazon, Cloudtail, FirstCry, Paytm, Flipkart and various other online portals as well. And we have been ranked amongst top 10 tricycle manufacturers in India by Shubz.in.
MBT: Please share some details on the manufacturing of the products- where does the manufacturing take place and the current manufacturing capacity.
BK: Presently, we operate five manufacturing units which are located in Delhi and Sahibabad. Each of the manufacturing processes take place in-house starting from fabrication to moulding and including the powder coating to assembly and also, from packaging to the delivery of the product, all of these processes are defined distinctly and we work on certain defined parameters.
We are using more than 50,000 sq/ft area and our production capacity is of more than 45000 pieces per month. Out of that, 25% of the production is for online customers while 75% is for our offline distribution network.
“There are several kinds of baby products that we are working on currently… The main focus of our company is to generate good profit for our distributors and retailers”
MBT: Are there any plans to diversify your product range in the near future? Also, how do you seek to expand your presence in the market?
BK: There are so many other projects that are in pipeline but all are related to same category and there are several kinds of baby products that we are working on currently. So in this industry, innovation is the key to success. You have to be very innovative and creative if you are in this business. The main focus of our company is to generate good profit for our distributors and retailers and B2B business. In the B2C category, we seek to provide great value for money to the customers who buy our products in the market and online.
MBT: Has there been any recent development at Luusa Tricycles that you wish to talk about?
